About BankStatementFree
BankStatementFree was created out of frustration with the existing landscape of online bank statement converters. Every tool we tried required either a paid subscription, account creation with an email address, or (most concerning) uploading a sensitive financial document to a remote server with vague privacy guarantees.
We believe converting a PDF bank statement to Excel should be simple, free, and private. So we built a tool that processes everything directly in your browser — no server upload, no account, no cost. The same technology that powers Gmail and Google Docs in your browser also makes it possible to parse PDFs and generate Excel files entirely client-side.
Our mission is to provide financial utility tools that respect user privacy by default. We make money through non-intrusive display advertising, which lets us keep the tool permanently free for everyone.

We are always improving the converter. If your bank is not currently detected automatically, or if your statements have a layout our parser does not handle well, please email support with a description of the issue. Providing an anonymized sample statement (with account numbers and names redacted) helps us improve bank-specific parsing.
We prioritize requests based on how many users would benefit. Requests for major US banks typically get implemented within a few weeks.
Response Times
We are a small team that responds to emails personally rather than using automated ticket systems. Typical response times:
- Bug reports: 24–48 hours
- Privacy or legal questions: 2–3 business days
- Feature requests: 3–5 business days
- Partnership inquiries: 5–7 business days
