Privacy Policy
Last updated: April 21, 2026
1. Our Privacy Commitment
BankStatementFree.com ("we", "us", or "our") is built on a foundation of user privacy. Our core value proposition is that your sensitive financial data never leaves your device. This Privacy Policy explains what limited information we do collect through third-party services, how that information is used, and the choices you have.
By using our website at https://bankstatementfree.com (the "Service"), you agree to the terms described in this policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the Service.
2. Bank Statement Data is Never Collected
When you upload a PDF bank statement to our converter, the entire conversion process runs inside your web browser using JavaScript. At no point does the PDF file, extracted text, transaction data, account numbers, names, addresses, or any other information from your bank statement get transmitted to our servers or any third party.
You can verify this by opening your browser's developer tools (press F12, then click the Network tab) and observing network requests while using the converter. You will see requests only for static assets like the page HTML, CSS, JavaScript libraries, and advertising scripts — never your document data.
Because we never receive your bank statement data, we cannot store it, share it, lose it, or be compelled to disclose it. This is a fundamental architectural choice, not just a policy promise.
3. Information We Do Collect
While we do not collect your bank statement data, we do use standard web technologies that collect limited technical information:
- Server logs: Our hosting provider automatically logs standard web access information including IP address, browser type, referring page, and timestamp. This is used for security monitoring and site reliability.
- Local storage: We use your browser's localStorage to remember your dark mode preference. This data never leaves your device.
- Cookies and advertising: We display advertising through Google AdSense, which may use cookies and similar technologies to serve relevant ads. See the section below on Google AdSense for details.
4. Google AdSense and Third-Party Advertising
Our Service displays advertisements served by Google AdSense to fund continued operation at no cost to users. Google may use cookies, device identifiers, and similar technologies to show personalized ads based on your interests and prior visits to our site or other sites.
You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of third-party vendor use of cookies for personalized advertising by visiting www.aboutads.info.
Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to users based on their visit to our site and other sites on the Internet. For more information about how Google uses data when you use partner sites or apps, please visit Google's Privacy & Terms page.
We do not control and are not responsible for the privacy practices of Google or other advertising partners. Their data collection is subject to their own privacy policies.
5. GDPR and EU Users
If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you have specific rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and similar laws. These include the right to access, correct, or delete personal data we hold about you, the right to restrict or object to processing, and the right to data portability.
Since we do not collect personally identifiable information through our core converter service, most of these rights apply only to data collected by our advertising partners. You can manage ad-related data through the Google Ads Settings link provided above.
Our advertising system displays a consent banner to users in the EEA on first visit, allowing you to accept or reject personalized advertising cookies in compliance with GDPR requirements.
6. California Residents (CCPA)
California residents have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). You have the right to know what personal information is collected, whether it is sold, and to request deletion. Because we do not sell personal information and do not collect bank statement data at all, these rights are straightforward to exercise.
To exercise any CCPA rights, contact us at the email address provided at the bottom of this policy.
7. Children's Privacy
Our Service is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we learn that we have collected information from a child under 13, we will promptly delete it. Parents or guardians who believe their child has provided information to us should contact us so we can take appropriate action.
8. Data Security
Our website is served over HTTPS, which encrypts all communication between your browser and our server. This protects against network eavesdroppers seeing which pages you visit. However, the strongest security measure is our client-side architecture: since your bank statement data never travels over the network, there is nothing for an attacker to intercept.
We apply industry-standard security practices to our hosting infrastructure, including regular security updates, access controls, and monitoring. That said, no system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security of any data transmitted over the internet.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Material changes will be highlighted with a notice on our homepage. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect indicates acceptance of the revised policy.
