By accessing or using BankStatementFree.com (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service. These Terms apply to all visitors, users, and others who access the Service.

2. Description of Service

BankStatementFree.com provides a free web-based tool for converting PDF bank statements into CSV and Excel (.xlsx) formats. The conversion runs entirely within your web browser using client-side JavaScript. No files are uploaded to our servers during the conversion process.

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service at any time without notice.

3. Free Use and No Account Required

The Service is provided free of charge. There is no account creation, subscription, or payment required to use any feature. Our operating costs are supported by display advertising through Google AdSense.

While the Service is free, we reserve the right to introduce paid tiers or premium features in the future. Any such changes will be clearly communicated and will not affect the availability of the free core features.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in a manner that does not violate these Terms. Specifically, you agree not to:

• Use the Service to process documents that you do not have a legal right to access
• Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Service's code in violation of applicable law
• Use automated systems (bots, scrapers) to access the Service at a rate that adversely affects availability for other users
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers connected to it
• Impersonate any person or entity or misrepresent your affiliation with any entity
• Use the Service for any illegal, fraudulent, or unauthorized purpose

5. Accuracy of Conversion

While we have made every effort to ensure accurate extraction of transaction data from bank statement PDFs, the conversion process relies on pattern matching and may occasionally produce errors. This is especially true for statements with unusual layouts, scanned documents, or damaged PDFs.

You are solely responsible for reviewing the converted output for accuracy before relying on it. The Service provides a preview table with inline editing specifically to allow you to correct any extraction errors before downloading.

We make no representations or warranties regarding the completeness, accuracy, or suitability of converted files for any particular purpose. You use the converted data at your own risk.

6. Not Financial Advice

Nothing on this website constitutes financial, tax, legal, or accounting advice. The Service simply converts PDF documents to spreadsheet formats. For decisions about your finances, taxes, or business records, please consult a qualified professional such as a certified public accountant (CPA), tax advisor, or attorney.

7. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its code, design, graphics, text, and trademarks, is owned by BankStatementFree.com and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works based on the Service without our express permission.

You retain full ownership of the bank statements you convert and the resulting CSV or Excel files. We claim no rights over your data.

8. Third-Party Libraries

The Service uses open-source libraries including pdf.js (Mozilla Public License 2.0), SheetJS (Apache License 2.0), and Tailwind CSS (MIT License). These libraries are used under the terms of their respective licenses and remain property of their authors.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, BankStatementFree.com and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or relating to your use of the Service. This includes, without limitation, damages for loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses.

Our total liability to you for any claim arising under these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid to use the Service in the 12 months preceding the claim, which for the free Service is zero dollars ($0).

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless BankStatementFree.com, its operators, and affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorney fees) arising out of your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of another party.

11. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your access to the Service at our sole discretion, without prior notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users, us, or third parties, or for any other reason. Upon termination, the provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive (such as ownership, disclaimers, and limitations of liability) shall survive.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation first, and if necessary through binding arbitration or the courts of competent jurisdiction.

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Material changes will be highlighted on our homepage. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
